The Sunset Beach swing bridge linked the island and the mainland since 1958. Opening hourly and on demand, and occasionally breaking down, it has served us for over fifty years.
With the opening of the Mannon C. Gore Bridge, our little bridge was decommissioned. With support from many of you, we have been able to keep the bridge and tender house and relocate it to a site on dry land where it can serve as a museum and gathering place for the community.
You can help us! The bridge is being saved privately by our non-profit society with support from individuals and businesses. We need both volunteer support and financial support.

On the morning of January 21, 2011 saw the Tender House being moved from the barge to join the ramps and center section of the bridge in its new home!
