Ready for some Halloween fun? Come to the Museum of Coastal Carolina between 10:00 and 2:00 on October 30 for Trunk or Treat, when the Ocean Isle Beach Sea Turtle Protection Organization, OIB Life Church, Sunset Slush, and Sloane Realty will sponsor trunks filled with candy and other goodies in each of the museum’s galleries. Children can trick-or-treat in the museum’s educational and safe environment. Kids are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to the museum and to bring their own trick-or-treat bags.
As part of the Trunk or Treat fun, Matthew Bookout will be on hand between 11:00 and 2:00 to share his knowledge of snakes and reptiles. Matthew has been fascinated with snakes for most of his life and acquired his first snake at the age of thirteen. He has a wealth of knowledge about venomous and non-venomous snake species and always brings along some of his favorite live snakes from his personal collection. As the local business owner of Ophidian’s Lair, he takes care of and feeds the Museum’s live non-venomous snakes.
